WHAT PERSONAL DATA WE COLLECT AND WHY WE COLLECT IT

We collect cookies (see below) as well as offer opt-ins for access to reserved content only for subscribers. This generally includes your name and email address so we may continue to communicate with you. You are free to unsubscribe at any time.

COMMENTS

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

MEDIA

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Third-Party Use of Personal Information

We may share your information with third parties when you explicitly authorize us to share your information. Chelsea Avery and MarriageMoon currently uses the following third-party service providers:

  • Google Analytics tracks website usage and provides information such as referring websites and user actions on the website. Google Analytics may capture your IP address, but no other personal information is captured by Google Analytics.
  • InfusionSoft is the service that we use for delivery of e-mail updates, newsletters and MarriageMoon processing. InfusionSoft stores your name and e-mail address for purposes of delivering such communications. Please refer to InfusionSoft’s privacy policy for further information.
  • We collect information about visitors who comment on Sites that use our Akismet anti-spam service. The information we collect depends on how the User sets up Akismet for the Site, but typically includes the commenter’s IP address, user agent, referrer, and Site URL (along with other information directly provided by the commenter such as their name, username, email address, and the comment itself).

At this time, your personal information is not shared with any other third-party applications.

Advertising

Chelsea Turner Avery and MarriageMoon may use third-party advertising companies to serve content and advertisements when you visit the site, which may use cookies, as noted above.

From time to time, Chelsea Avery and MarriageMoon may engage in remarketing efforts with third-party companies, such as Google, Facebook or Instagram, in order to market. These companies use cookies to serve ads based on someone’s past visits to the website.

Chelsea Turner Avery and MarriageMoon may engage in affiliate marketing, which is done by embedding tracking links into the website. If you click on a link for an affiliate partnership, a cookie will be placed on your browser to track any sales for purposes of commissions.

This site may be a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

You may subscribe to our newsletter, which may be used for advertising purposes. All newsletters sent may contain tracking pixels. The pixel is embedded in emails and allows an analysis of the success of online marketing campaigns. Because of these tracking pixels, we may see if and when you open an email and which links within the email you click. This allows Chelsea Turner Avery and MarriageMoon to adapt the content of future newsletters to the interests of the user. This behavior will not be passed on to third parties.

HOW LONG WE RETAIN YOUR DATA

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

WHAT RIGHTS YOU HAVE OVER YOUR DATA

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
