How to Calm Anxiety Naturally
Anxiety has been a companion of mine since I can remember. I distinctly remember being too freaked out to ask for more ketchup at McDonalds when I was seven years old. I made my little sister do it.
I missed out on the opportunity to travel with my Nana to Paris while I was in high school because of anxiety.
I couldn’t drive myself to school the first day I had my new car.
My marriage has struggled because of anxiety.
Parenting is a whole new level on anxiety for me.
I have pass on literally hundreds if not thousands of opportunities, events, gatherings and conversations because of my anxiety. I was on anxiety medication since 15. I weaned myself (along with my doctor) off of that medication when I was about 23. I managed my anxiety decently well without medication until the birth to my daughter at age 29. Postpartum depression and anxiety hit me hard. Hormones are assholes.
I share this with you so you know I get it. I have it. So, how to calm anxiety naturally? I’ve experienced routes of medication as well as coping naturally and a combination of both.
