You are five years old today! FIVE! That feels so...grown-up! You are like a kid-kid now and it's so fun to watch you interact with the world!
Your personality continues to shine through. You are glamorous, rugged, adventurous, curious and smart! Also, you are tall. Like, same height as some 8 and 9 year olds. It's amazing (98th percentile) and I hope you can embrace this tallness because I sure didn't.
Since we are still in pandemic mode, we spent a lot of time together as a family and in our little bubble. You spent the year getting creative with arts and crafts, bug searching, going on adventures, lots of walks around the neighborhood and painting nails.
You are a fantastic big sister! You are (mostly) patient with Zürich as he tests the water of taking your toys and copying everything you do. He really does look up to his big sister! You read to him, are quick to finish your turn so he can have his, you help him with his shoes and make sure he is taken care of! I love watching your relationship evolve!
You've also got to spend a lot of quality time with our extended family and for that, I will always be grateful! We are so lucky to live by all your grandparents. You will never ever feel a shortage of love.
In mid-January, you started preschool at a Montessori school and THRIVED. About 2 months ago, we were finally able to go into your classroom and you were so proud to show us around! You even picked us flowers (from the potted plant out front) and said "Thank you for being such great parents!"
Because you're so smart and love school, we decided to start you this year in Kindergarten! I can barely believe it. You walked in with such confidence, bravery and excitement - we are so proud of you!
There was a time that I wasn't sure the tough newborn days would ever be any other way but sure enough, here you are...growing up and loving it!
Sometimes I come lay next to you after you've fallen asleep and simply marvel that you are the same little human that kicked around my belly for 9 months and now here you are...learning and caring and crying and loving. It really is miraculous and I'm so thankful to be your mama.
You bring so much joy, curiosity, patience, acceptance, fun and pure love into our lives, little lady. Thank you for being exactly who you are! Happy birthday my little love.
