It’s been a minute, hasn’t it? This was not my intention to roll out a 75% done site, post once and then ghost you. I’m sorry. But…I’m here!

The reason I’ve been quiet around these parts and even my beloved Instagram is because…I’m growing baby #2 (and have felt truly miserable)!

My estimated due date is at the end of July, so I’m about 11.5 weeks currently.

I’ve felt horrendous and had debilitating nausea (only slight vomiting) every single day since the beginning of December. If you followed along while we were filming my husband’s online learning course in December, it thankfully didn’t set in until the last two days of filming. The exhaustion has also been especially bad, barely being able to stay awake 10 hours a day.

Here’s a snapshot of my life for the past 5ish weeks:

~ Wake-up, feel sick.

~ Take a nap, feel sick.

~ Eat one bagel with peanut butter over the course of the day, will myself to keep it down.

~ Consume all things ginger.

~ Sit. Feel sick. Lay down. Feel sick. Move too fast. Feel sick. Too hungry. Feel sick. Too full. Feel sick. Drink too much water. Feel sick. Not enough water. Feel sick. Read. Feel sick. Watch TV. Feel sick.

~ Go to bed when Atlas goes to bed (by about 7:30pm), while feeling sick.

The silver-lining in all of this? My husband has been home and not on the road. Therefore he did most of the parenting until about 4 days ago, when time and acupuncture actually gave me relief and I’m feeling better! It was a bummer to feel so terrible during the holidays (and then get the flu after Christmas). But I’m also thankful I could rest/nap/sit because we weren’t swamped with work.

We are on our way to New Orleans right now for our first speech of 2019 and I’m so freakin’ relieved I feel better. Like, I thank the universe multiple times a day that my constant nausea has abated and I have energy to take more than 300 steps a day.

What does Atlas think of being a big sister?

Well, she’s absolutely looooving it! I’ll share in another post how we told everyone (included how I surprised Ravery – my husband – with the news)!

She tells my belly “good morning baaaaby” during all hours of the day and will randomly give my stomach her toys. It’s super adorable.

Since the day my pregnancy test was positive, I’ve had a belly about this size. Part of it is due to bloat and the other part is simply my uterus being like “oh, I’m READY. Let’s DO THIS!”

So, there you have it, our exciting update and the reason I’ve been MIA for a while. I’m so thankful I’m feeling better because I have lots to share with you!

We are thrilled and grateful to be expanding our family to include another member!
